Garden trellis netting is a mesh support that gardeners stretch across a frame, fence, or pergola so climbing plants such as peas, beans, and cucumbers can grow up through the openings instead of sprawling across the soil.
Garden trellis netting suits home gardeners who grow vine crops and climbing plants and want an open support rather than a set of rigid stakes. It also fits people setting up a vertical growing area on a balcony, patio, or raised bed where ground space is limited.
Choose garden trellis netting by matching the mesh opening size to the plant type. Larger openings suit heavier-stemmed climbers, while finer openings suit plants that grab support with thin tendrils. Match the overall size of the net to the frame, fence, or pergola you plan to cover, and consider the material for outdoor use.
What material is this grow net made from?
The netting is made from nylon, which is also shown in the Specifications section. Nylon gives the net a flexible open surface that climbing plants can wind through.
What kinds of plants is this netting for?
It is designed for climbing plants that need vertical support, such as vegetables like peas, beans, and cucumbers, and other vines grown up a trellis.
How is netting different from using stakes?
Netting covers a wider area than individual stakes, so one net can support several plants at once along a fence, post line, or pergola.
Is this netting only for garden vegetables?
Gardeners use trellis netting mainly for edible vines and flowering climbers. Choosing the right mesh opening for the plant you are growing helps the stems find support.
